Who am I

I am Nadia Lager, CEO of Porto Rafael Real Estate, my agency in Porto Rafael. To tell its story, I must start with a short tale. I don't believe in astrology, but the planet which leads my sign is Venus, the star of beauty: even if skeptical about horoscopes, I do admit search for beauty has guided my whole life, as a distant sound to follow, that pushed me towards an instinctive and passionate journey. Milanese by chance, I could have grown up in Paris, in New York, in Budapest, in Tel Aviv, in Trieste. Mine are fragmented roots, scattered around the world and full of stimul. I started running after to bring them back home.

Home, the key word of my life. Travelling: first Korea, Japan, China. I am one of the few women traveling to Asia for work, Korea, Japan, China. I attend meetings, buy goods, discuss prices, learn the art of mediation, improve my professional tools. The sound starts calling me somewhere else. Thailand, Burma, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Indonesia, Kenya, just a few; International capital cities: Hong Kong, London, Amsterdam, Singapore, Berlin and many others. I reach India, after traveled half the world, but I still can't stop. When I come back to Italy I move from North to South: art towns, villages, churches, monuments, paths climbing up inside ancient walls, Sicily, Sardinia, the sea, untamed nature, Porto Rafael. The sound ceases. Home.

Rafael Neville Count of Berlanga is the Spanish nobleman who fell in love with the granite rocks of Gallura in the early 1960s and decided to found Porto Rafael. I had the fortune to live those years and I still remember the dirt roads covered with sand where walking barefoot reaching friends’ houses with lit lanterns in a climate of festive freedom. Even today in Porto Rafael no hotels nor large condominium are there, only exclusive villas surrounded by 150 hectares of Mediterranean scrub.

Following the vision of beauty of Rafael, since almost 30 years I respond to customers seeking existential experiences rather than vacation spots, travelers pursuing a precise idea of how to be in the world, where to be in the world. I have discovered that those born under my sign are driven to carry out solid projects, on which to rely firmly to face the most unpredictable journey of all, life. Buying a house almost always represents a moment of particular evolution and change in one's existence; but also the rent is an undeniable element of discontinuity, when one detaches from the stressful rhythms of work to be with family and friends, and find oneself again.
